land of the wolf.

So it was my good fortune to receive 6 thunder-wolves a week or so ago.
I am sculpting more fur on them now to bulk them out they are a bit small. They are the ones made by the Russian lady, so they are all the same.
I never thought I would use them. their isn't an easy to get model and the Idea seemed odd. marines riding wolves. But I am glad to give them a go.

On the home front My wolves came in the bottom 5 in last weekends rtt. I must say I was very glad to play 5 people I have never played before and though only winning round 3 I still had fun.
My only problem was the first round gitters. Though I did get tabled in nearly all my games I can clame to have killed a grate many foe! all manner of savage beasty and abomination xenos and "marine" alike. let me just say 750 isn't many points to build a strong army with.
I have sold the Dark Angels! and have 2 more commissions in the works! more soon.

The holidays are here again!

So it's that time of year again! Time for me to get some major time off! 15 days!
Oh and I do have plans for mt free time, yes good plans!
The Guild has asked for more terrain and tables! so I am hoping that this weekend will see the start of the first of 2 table the plan is a snow covered landscape with rolling hills and strange colored crystals ... what we are going to see may be more frighting and deformed than anyone expects.
I also have a lot of refinery looking terrain that are in need of a home and that may be table 2

On the home front an old army arrived back this week. the famed Dark Angels are home and looking for paint?!1 time will tell.
The Wolves do not sleep through all this I am moving on to shoulder pads, slowly, and will be working on the studded shoulder pad metallics... I still need a company Icon and am looking for a nice decal? or a cool theme involving a wolfs head...
Here are some pic's of the "new guys"

Wolve Update!

It's been a wonderful weekend, a fantastic holiday as well!
This evening has been very long and I have painted all day.
To night I am packing up some paints and models to work on during my lunch tomorrow.
All the work I still have to Finnish from todays painting load.
I am working on some bikers and several squad weapons who will flush out my grey hunter packs.
Also I have a new wolf totem and a third long fang pack leader! he is all plastic I wish I had more of the old metal models but I like this one.
The bikers are led by a Wolf Guard with a thunder hammer! he is very well posed and will look fantastic when he is done. I think I may use them to hunt tanks, this should be Ideal for them as a small unit. I have a power fist in the squad but it costs as much as a bike.. so it is up in the air I will have to play test the unit to see it it stays.
Friday I had a game with Shockwave from the Clarksville Legion and the game was exciting all the way to the end. He plays a good game . The wolves won 10 to 5, in 5 turns. I used rhinos for the first time in a long time and was very pleased with their proformance. I am still working my list out for the next RTT. well that sums up my holiday weekend... More soon
Enjoy the Pic's.

All the Assault weapons and what nots!

And the Bikers !

Fire power!

The wolves got a short game in last night. we joined forces with chaos (GASP not chaos I heard those guys ...) Yep the very same. our opposition was red scorpions and guard.
for reasons I don't still understand we used a 16 foot table and avoided most of it. our side was going second so we turtled up on our left where we could avoid most of the imp guard tanks and not loose out units. The pore red scorpions had the teeth of nearly 4000 points against them in very small numbers.
My list was/is small but packs a heck of a punch. our first turn went very well Matt and I work well on the same side and his lash list + my wolves ...so sorry for the other side..
I was looking of a singles match but I'm glad I had a fun game over a more competitive one.
The deciding factors for us were the terrain and in a few spots just going for it. Which paid off.
I like my list so far but I need to sit down and write a few more I have options I have not used in a while I know they can work but I need to put Ideas on paper and push some points around..

And were Back!

Next on the block looks like 2 Dreadnaughts. a shooty one and a Venerable.

A new thought. I am thinking about adding 2 wherlwends to my army. at 80 or 90 points each they could supply a lot of cheep fire power I don't have to balance out a more mobile list.

I am going to spend some time shopping for a new digie cam now that I have some money for one.
And final thoughts I think the time has come for a new paint set. The Vallejo 72 paint set with case and some brushes is also on my mind..

I'm glad the Darkeldar are out again I am refreshed to have something other than marines being released by GW I don't know if I will ever own that army but If I don't it is only because I don't have the room or time for them. They look fantastic! I can't wait to fight them!
