A bit more work to do. He needs his spikes painted and glued on and a little more detail and a few more contrasting colors. ( Just a little)
He's also got a larger base in his future. I plan to move him up to a 50MM base.

Thanks for looking!
More Mayhem to come!

I've started going through my Ork loot that's been sitting in the shop for a little over a year now.
I have discovered 50+ slugga boys and over 100 shoota boys. This is not counting models still in bitz.
With the rerelease of WAAAGH Ghazghkull I think I need to start to reorganize things.
As it stands I'll paint 40 slugga boys to finish off a mob and have another at full strength.
The shoota boys are mostly in a box together now 80 with another 10 big shootas as well.
I'm thinking I need to get a count of how many more than 100 there are and move a portion of those aside to become Slugga boys. I'm very tempted to field loads more large mobs of slugga boys and only maintain ..........lost my train of thought there.
Lastly, for now, I have parts for lootas and burnas and bitz to make more boys. So I'm planning to build those, really that's only 16 models but I also want more rokkits... never enough and I have just reovered two more of those which just need bodies to stick them on!
it's important that I am able to keep my collection flexible so I can quickly recover should the Orks get yet another "updated book" (codex)
Madness I tell you.
Late last week I started to paint Ghazghkull and he's nearly done. He'll get a post all to himself.
Nearly cough up with my work around the homestead. The way things are going this year it looks like my Studio will be closed for the year due to the trickling in of tasks. So while I'm catching up and will have time for a brake, I wont be done for months.
On the Hobby front I played a game last Sunday 2600 points. I'm trying to edit my video and waiting for the pictures to be posted. We tried out the Tactical Supremacy card set for our game.Too soon to tell how best to play with those. I think Maelstrom cards would have been netter for my army in terms of objectives I could score.
My opponent played his Imperial Knights...7 of them.
We've also decided to play smaller points games, he and I, this year. With the hope of being able to play two games on any given day.
I'm still sorting out the reprint of WAAAGH Ghazgkull. I'm keen to use the Ork Air craft formations. I did try the blitz bomber squad and see it as a big step in the right direction. I just received 3 more aircraft from Ebay land, which I got for a very good price.
I'm watching an auction for 3 more. Maybe I'll get lucky with that.
I'me still slowly working on the Wulfen. I've not been enjoying painting them but it's just painting skin tones right now which always feels like a lot of work. I need to clean my paint brushed and restore their tips. Then things will be easier. As far as collecting Space wolves goes my list of things I want has been cut down to just a few more models. some Finwolves to replace the ones I have or had that are missing or maybe traded away ..They've been gone for so long I can't remember what I have done with them. And I'd like another Storm wolf. I think that's about it. Maybe in the fall.
This year my focus is going to be gaming and painting my own models. That said I do have an army or two to auction. More on those when I get to them.
I'm sure I mentioned being very busy these last few posts. I'm nearly cough up with the homestead demands and have had a little more free time this week.
So lets jump right in!
My Leviathan arrive early this week? I can't remember. It's built, primed and has a few coats of color on it now. I actually had to redo the first two colors and the wash. In my excitement I put the color on in the same way I do for infantry models. Vehicles are just a bit different.
I really like this kind of kit. It's very pose-able.
The first painting.
All 4 pictures above are the second painting. I like it much better.
I've also now assembled the last 5 Wulfen and they have a little pint on them.
I'll be doing a whole post just for them.
It's looking like I'll get to play my first game of 2016 on Sunday.
2500 points. I haven't decided which army I want to play, I'm keen to try my luck with the Wolves.
My opponent has never played against them before. By which I mean He's never experienced me play them before.
Other things of note.
I just did video review thing for the reprinted WAAAGH Ghazghkull supplement.
I think it's no secret that I always have my mind running all over the place. Thinking about this that or the other. Today I started looking into building a void Shield Generator which my Orks will have long ago looted from Imperial hands. I spent a little time this morning looking around Ebay and Amazon for parts. I'm not overly impressed?, if that's the right way to put it, with GW's VSG which can still be found for around 500.00 teef. on line, mostly sold on Ebay. I'm tempted to look for a super cheap Knockoff but have yet to do that. I have plenty of things around the shop I could use to build one and am planning to do that. To start with I have a bastion kit still on the sprue. This will be the base of the VSG. Next I started looking for a Doctor who Sonic Screwdriver. There are lots to choose from.
Now I am wondering how far to go. Do I use one, two, three or more? One's for sure. These things cont roughly 25.00, more or less.
Lots to think about. Either way I am looking forward to using on in a more competitive list. I have a Scrumgrod who wants a Scrap after his loss last year. He's going to get one but not the one he wants.
My lot like to win. And there's a rumor going around that his lot ..suck. lol.
(Although I may have just started that ...just now..)
New tactic to try. I've only just reread Vehicles in assault.
Set up a multi assault where my heaviest hitter and hit unit assault both a squad and a vehicle.
Each glance counts as one wound and each penetrating hit counts as two. An assault in this fashion could easily swing combat results to my favor. A year ago I had a Gorkanaught make contact with a squad of blood claws and a Storm Wolf. Had I known the rules correctly I could have done this. This seems to me to be strongest against anything non Space Marine. IG Blobs, and other such enemy units could be very vulnerable to this. Be mindful of Fearless enemy units. This won't work at all on them. After "winning combat"( By which I mean shaking a transport apart) remember to trample the fleeing enemy.
I have started a monster Space Wolves post which will list my collection and have pictures. It still a work in progress.
Have I mentioned I dream about my Orks?
More proof of their true power.
