Black and white art IRL. Oni themed strangeness

 Continuing my Oni themed art is something I knocked together this week. 
I love horror movies and it is October after all. I have a small series of short form videos themed around ninja/shinobi and shinobi/Oni  I have been a fan of ninja movies for as long as I care to remember so  1980 - something or other.  I follow a ninja themed face book thing how to build a ninja flash bomb. 

They kinda do videos share pictures they find or are submitted as well as make a few tutorials ever now and then. The kid in me enjoys it a fair bit. They're one reason I started messing around with videos again. Mostly just using added effects and filters over pictures with just a drop of actual video footage I've filmed. In a small way I think sharing some of this with them has helped push them to get more creative.
But who can say. 

On to todays topic. 

Here we have to original. This was clipped from video filmed with a nightfox digital night vision in IR light. It was difficult to set up the pictures because it has to be manually focused. I used to post as my reference point. It's hit or miss really. 

Same picture but with a filter added from windows pictures.

Finally. Picture filtered in windows movie maker using the original picture.

Now it looks like white over black. 

This brings up around to the full video, all 45 seconds of it. 

I mentioned short form video above. this would go right to reels except I end up edition and something about the way I have done this has made that not work just now but I found the feature that should change them over to reels so we'll see. 

Oh, where was I . Yes. I remember now.

So there it is.
I'm cooking up a better one to try to film sooner or later.

A second Oni.

Any port in a storm?

Glad to continue drawing. I am just trying to keep it going. 
I may have mentioned my brother requested a specific picture from a scene in his second story. 
I hat a snag on that several months ago and more or less was unable to draw there after.
So these Oni have been working out really well and getting the juices going again. 

  



I see a lot of swords drawn where the blade and the sword handle are very poorly thought out. They don't line up correctly. Makes me crazy. 
The blade was done in three lines using a make shift straight edge. The center line tracks down to center the swords handle.  Granted this one is still a bit shit. 

These Oni, the first and second, were once men. Or maybe still are. 
Monstrous acts make a monster.

Sooner or later I will get to the real Oni.

I have an idea for that coming together right now.

It's finally OCTOBER!

 Here's an Oni doing Oni stuff.

We chattered about the L5R game and this started to come together. 

Now with color.

I got a very good scan of this picture.

I'd thought I was done but found I kept picking it up.
Now it's officially done. 

 

I've been unable to create recently. 
One of my art projects is arranged but I've not been able to get it moving. Hopefully this is about to change. I'm promised a picture ad am several months behind.
