Getting stuck in again.

It's been two long weeks of work arounf the propperty and until this week all I achieved was bringing all the models I was working on inline with the ones you've seen in my last Ork commission post. Well, not all. Not exactly. I also painted all of their eyes and finger nails and did some touchups as well. But you've seen those.
This week has been very good, finishing up with the above, and getting started on ..wait for it... Wait for it...

 More Orks!

Yep, I've still got it.

Picture time!
Just getting started again I think I really missed the boat in that lase...several hundred.
I skipped a few things, thinking loads of progress was what I wanted, but it was all for not as I had to revisit them all..3 times. so, ya. wont be doing that again.
Lesson learned!
Good training, Good training..

This boss does not approve of extra work!

He's making sure I don't spend too much time muckkin about..

This boss arrived without a head! but I had one for him!
it's from my first 3rd edition Metal WarBoss!
Looks good on him!

The eye's are.
white, then painted Glory Red. Vallejo Game Color.
Lookd really good on Da' lads.
This boss had huge eyes!
And a blurry picture of boys and bosses. base coated and standing in line for paint!
The oll' "Hurry up and wait!"

So we're back and things are going. I am working a little slower right now but I'm also trying not to make more work for myself and have part of my brain box cooking over how to do the muddy bases.
I find if I just put the thought in there and leave it alone for a while everything becomes clear.
I discovered that ...last year? Who knows how long I've been doing that and hadn't noticed.
Thanks for reading!

Note to Sean.
Could you forward our emails to my new address? I don't have access to your spreadsheets.
Thanks in advance!

Game number 5 for they year!

2500 points Imperial Guard " Dammit"  VS  WAAAAGH! GORGAK!
The IG and Savage Greenskins net in an early morning raid for scraps.
Or in low in imperial terms..objectives.
The IG arrived mounted in transports and escorted by the elite Scyons. their mission must not fail.  Or some one may get a bad report written about them and we all know that means a trip to the Commissars office...
And no cookies for a month!!!!! Zounds!
The simple mindedness of the orks determined to meat their foe for a good scrum, regardless.  The weedy grot will grab da loot while we have a good oll' time fightin! Dat's da plan!..Dat's always da plan...

We played eternal war mission one. we had 5 objectives. we chose deployment zones that seemed to best fit the table. long edges.
The Imperial Guard deployed first, chose to go first and the orks failed to steal first turn.
Nandys army brings the pain. But the Orks are tough and can take a beating...

Orks deployment.

Behind the Imperial Guards deployment.

Storm troopers deepstrike in behind the gorkanaut to hit it with melta.

All of the Imperial Guard reserves arive.

^The Green tide moves forward. they shoot and miss with 8 rockits on turn one.

22 orks are killed on turn one 19 on turn two and 7 on turn 3.

3 Grot mobs arrive. those mobs and the burnas from the Gorkanaut kill the storm troopers!

Grots cheer as storm troopers flee!

The Mega Nobs assault the vet squad with the Imperial Guard warlord and the wyvern squadron.

One of the wyvern explodes! the Nobs kill sever vets but they hold!

The Morkanaut and the green tide also assault on turn two!
They are assaulting Pask and the demolisher. ( they are a squadron)

The vets in this Chimera know they may well be next on the menu...
But what to do!?!?!

The Assaulting Morkanaut destroys the tank squadron!
They both explode! KA-BOOM! the explosion kills a few Orks from the Green tide who were standing too close!

At this point the battle is lost the commanders and officers have been chopped up or gunned down!
The day is lost!

The imperial navy will have their parting shots. For the Honer!

The sentinels have held the Mega Nobs as long as they could the Mega Nobs are over joyed for a goof fight! Laughing as another sentinel explodes!

The finals score was Orks 4 to Imperial Guard 1.
Imperial forces earned line braker
Orks forces took one Objective, first blood, which was earned on turn two, warlord...due to Ork fire power..., and line breaker.

We had a nice afternoon and a fun little match.
The imperial list seemed strong and shooty but the Orks proved to be too durable.
The last charges made the game for me. the MANZ, Morkanaut and the tide all launched assaults! The MANZ were my :sure thing" but the Morkanaut and tide had to charge much much further and through Difficult terrain!
To all the Ork players out there I recommend charging early and often! My green tide will be dropping their rokkits the next time they face the Imperial Guard. No reason to encourage them to muck about..

Half time schedule for a few weeks.

I am moving to half time schedule for a week or two, counting most of this week.
I am painting in the evenings but it's all slow work right now paint touch ups and bit's I missed on the Infantry sized models. I'm about half way through them right now. I have a lot of things that need doing around the property.

I know these kinds of updates suck. Sorry. More better updates to come!

A two week update.

This is a two weeks update kind of post. The weather cleared up and...
The stompa is partly primed and has a metallic coat of paint, still needs assembly but this will help get things going. Lots of infantry sized models and warbosses have their base coat for the skin started. A little red started on the killa Kans. Deff Kopta bases started 9 of them so far. Lots of drying glued texture. I am taking my first look at the looted vehicles in the tuff box. tow looted rhinos. I'll think about them for a few days before I do anything to them.
The best part is that I am now getting to the end of the tough box. Still to come, Some Big Guns. And then the Red Box...

Last Thursday I went to Hobby Lobby. I picked up some realistic water effects and some Texture gel.
I'm not sure exactly how but these will be the base for the wet mud effects I am planning.
I have been spending a few days picking out the details on the Nobs. My thoughts now are to continue back through all the Ork boys I have been painting so far and put in the last details ( Which will include their eyes.) And finish up their bases. I still have a week or two's worth of base coated models in the shop. I've hit a doldrum and am trying very hard to star on task. I have a lot started but not really beyond base coated in the shop and then.. the Red Box.
I've glanced in but have left that box more or less alone. I think I am close to 2/3rd's down. Or at least I will be in a few weeks.

Saturday I am headed off to the Game shop for a scrum. Which was a blast! It's good to play a game , releave some stress and reset my mind.
This week I am back into the big pile of Ork Boys that you've seen before

After. Gloves, wrist bands, hairsquigs, rings teef's.  It makes a difference !

And am still plugging away at them I've needed easy and productive work. I'm not ready to mess with the models in the shop this week. But I want to be productive.
I have to say I really like the way these guy look. I know some of the color choice may seem a bit funny but I've been trying to ....Keep it "mad max." By which i mean there are no rules. I don't want them to look ridicules. Every Ork is an individual onto him self. So think of it as This is how the Ork wants to look to express his ness. Orkyness. And if you don't like it.. I'm sure he's up for a fight about it. Plus extra colors look good. I think they help the "Pop!" factor.

If I'm honest these guys are cooler then mine, well easily as cool as mine. I like them.
I'm still looking for the right red color for their eyes. I'm also in the air about the washes I want to use to finis them up. Like a dark blue/green.
