The holidays are here again!

So it's that time of year again! Time for me to get some major time off! 15 days!
Oh and I do have plans for mt free time, yes good plans!
The Guild has asked for more terrain and tables! so I am hoping that this weekend will see the start of the first of 2 table the plan is a snow covered landscape with rolling hills and strange colored crystals ... what we are going to see may be more frighting and deformed than anyone expects.
I also have a lot of refinery looking terrain that are in need of a home and that may be table 2

On the home front an old army arrived back this week. the famed Dark Angels are home and looking for paint?!1 time will tell.
The Wolves do not sleep through all this I am moving on to shoulder pads, slowly, and will be working on the studded shoulder pad metallics... I still need a company Icon and am looking for a nice decal? or a cool theme involving a wolfs head...
Here are some pic's of the "new guys"

Wolve Update!

It's been a wonderful weekend, a fantastic holiday as well!
This evening has been very long and I have painted all day.
To night I am packing up some paints and models to work on during my lunch tomorrow.
All the work I still have to Finnish from todays painting load.
I am working on some bikers and several squad weapons who will flush out my grey hunter packs.
Also I have a new wolf totem and a third long fang pack leader! he is all plastic I wish I had more of the old metal models but I like this one.
The bikers are led by a Wolf Guard with a thunder hammer! he is very well posed and will look fantastic when he is done. I think I may use them to hunt tanks, this should be Ideal for them as a small unit. I have a power fist in the squad but it costs as much as a bike.. so it is up in the air I will have to play test the unit to see it it stays.
Friday I had a game with Shockwave from the Clarksville Legion and the game was exciting all the way to the end. He plays a good game . The wolves won 10 to 5, in 5 turns. I used rhinos for the first time in a long time and was very pleased with their proformance. I am still working my list out for the next RTT. well that sums up my holiday weekend... More soon
Enjoy the Pic's.

All the Assault weapons and what nots!

And the Bikers !

Fire power!

The wolves got a short game in last night. we joined forces with chaos (GASP not chaos I heard those guys ...) Yep the very same. our opposition was red scorpions and guard.
for reasons I don't still understand we used a 16 foot table and avoided most of it. our side was going second so we turtled up on our left where we could avoid most of the imp guard tanks and not loose out units. The pore red scorpions had the teeth of nearly 4000 points against them in very small numbers.
My list was/is small but packs a heck of a punch. our first turn went very well Matt and I work well on the same side and his lash list + my wolves ...so sorry for the other side..
I was looking of a singles match but I'm glad I had a fun game over a more competitive one.
The deciding factors for us were the terrain and in a few spots just going for it. Which paid off.
I like my list so far but I need to sit down and write a few more I have options I have not used in a while I know they can work but I need to put Ideas on paper and push some points around..

Gasp! Pic's at last!

As good as it's going to get..
So My wife just got a new digi cam! I may have to get one too. not to pricey either but I'm not sure it seems a bit sqirly right now. very easy to mess up a pic' .
I have a new cam corder on order and that means new movies! better ones!
I have entered the B&C space wolf painting challenge and heres what I am going to be working on.
Wolf guard hero VEN Dred!
And the 2 terminators as well. Still have not started the blood claw sky pack. More on them later.

And were Back!

Next on the block looks like 2 Dreadnaughts. a shooty one and a Venerable.

A new thought. I am thinking about adding 2 wherlwends to my army. at 80 or 90 points each they could supply a lot of cheep fire power I don't have to balance out a more mobile list.

I am going to spend some time shopping for a new digie cam now that I have some money for one.
And final thoughts I think the time has come for a new paint set. The Vallejo 72 paint set with case and some brushes is also on my mind..

I'm glad the Darkeldar are out again I am refreshed to have something other than marines being released by GW I don't know if I will ever own that army but If I don't it is only because I don't have the room or time for them. They look fantastic! I can't wait to fight them!

Are my youtube videos being seen?

I'm wondering if my blog..readers? (cherp cherp cherp cherp) are seeing my you tube videos?

It is the other edge to my sword and I am hoping that it will gain interest and pull in people to the blog. Yes I know that mean I need more to read here, no I haven't forgotten.

Moving on. I am painting my land raiders now..2 of 3 the third one has no tracks..can't find them.. bad me.
But all is well I played a newer gamer last night and won in a way that should not have been possible.
I am not complaining I am glad I was clever enough to pull it off. He looked like he had some good moves ready for my wolves in the first two turns but I was able to wall him in and that was game.. we ended on turn 5. I hope he learned more about his army and too take risks as well.
He paints very well and is airbrushing his tanks they look very good.

I was reintroduced to mead this weekend love the stuff. more like a wine than any thing else. we got 3 different bottles the first called Viking blood..yum freshly squeezed viking!
I need to get back on the war path and wont be able to do to much till November. more on that after it is over. I am hoping to play at the 9/11 rtt 1500 points I'm excited
Paint it black Studio and I may film a battle report for out channels from our prospectives should be a cool battle report I don't know when we will be doing this but it should be a blast.

More soon.

Work!? or is it?

So I have a 24 hour shift to pull on Friday but all I have to do is sit their unless bad things happen. And it is ok for me to paint! so Friday will be a paint-o-thon! Wolves will be getting some "love"from the paint department. I have some grey hunters I have been excited to paint for a week or two and They will be first up for paint. I have yet to get a prototype? painted but maybe this Friday. So a pic' heavy day with luck. I know I keep promising pic's and I will deliver something this Friday.

A good day of gaming!

So the team tournament is over. yesterday was a lot more fun than I thought it would have been. I was thinking that I was going to just go through the motions like some kind of ghost or a robot (venture bros quote) But it was a good event and my partner and I did very well. I came on too strong in the first round and I wish I had not. I broke the will of one of the players on the other side...Sorry. It has been frustrating playing kids who don't really know how to play..or they kinda' know but it's the little things that make me crazy. We drew our first and second games and massacred in the third. I think things would have turned out a lot different all over if every player had known the correct format to build their armies. My partner and I discuses out options all through out the games and one player in round two, who would keep "calling" his partner aside to have their little what if's during the game. I don't think it changes too much in a game for either side to know what your thinking. once the minis have been moved it will be plain to see after all so ...
our third game let us come on very strong fighting a horde of IG and TAU. we preformed very well and had the big win we were wanting all day. we placed second!
This evening I will be filming and getting pics of my Space wolves all night. I want to post some pics and I feel like I owe a you tube post as well.
More very soon.

Saturday, 14 August 2010

were changing gears again.

The daily money thing (army-work) has gotten silly again and I am having a lot less time for my projects and the blog. So I will still be doing what I can but unlike June I will be shooting for 4 posts per month. the exceptions being September-November in which I will be lucky to make any post at all. then we will cruse into the holidays and we will see what I can do from their. I need to be leaving very soon now I am late for a team tournament. Pic's today or to night if were lucky!

Work work work! ..war craft jokes..
I have assembled 30 shoota boyz! 6 or 10 more burna boyz and about as many lootaz!
My loot just got in to day! 3 killa kanz a dred and another box of lootaz! Oh and ZagStruck!
So things are coming together again for me. I have some terrain designs I have been playing with and I need to look at some shots from band of brothers to put it all together well.
I have 3 days off so I should get a lot of terrain started this weekend. My "necromunda" styled terrain and some euro village terrain will be my mane focus . Pic's of the orkz this weekend are planed but may not be painted yet. I am looking for airbrush primer ..primer I can air brush on my figs in side so I don't have to fight a loosing battle ..the humidity is killing me. My wolves are ruined. Until I get some way to save them.

Well all for now.

Another project done.

The warhound is done, well my part is done. I gave it over yesterday. I'm a bit upset? well not upset but not happy about my part in it. I took to long and felt a bit intimidated by it from time to time. I will easily build one now. The first new model will always take too long to build. I am glad I got to do this project. I think I need to work more on my time management and tackle the things that look the hardest first. In this instance the feet which were 30 some odd parts needed to be done first. The model is very top heavy but until the feet are all the way done you cant tell how much weight they will support.

I may get a pic' or two to stick up here.
I am still Space Wolves crazy. I am working on my blood claw bikers wolf guard and more options for my grey hunters. Project necrons is slowly moving and the stompa is getting almost no work done to it at this time.I will be trying to have them both done by the end of August.

Sunday, 4 July 2010

No pic's today

Just a note Project Uberwolves (Space Wolves) has begun!
I am working out a test model right now. I like a dark look for the armour but I am not sold on blue or Shadow grey. I made a blu..darkblue wash to use. My models are based in P3 Iron Hull Grey I have a dark codex grey as well to use I might spray them a in the directly lighted spot for a layered highlight before washing them. I spent a few hours working on my wolf guard terminators last night I may need to magnetize options or get more models.. And blood claw bikers may soon be rolling in! we will see.

More soon ... and I still don't have an army list for the 17th of july rtt.

Here we are! last Sunday night I started to paint the new game board.
I was looking at the painted deasert and decided to attempt a bad knock off.
The nice part about this project is that being a game board is dosen't have to match the real thing.
So just running with it, to see where it goes, is ok.
It is a little abstract with all the colors but having seen ..er been to some deserts I like the way it is going.
Nature has few standards when it comes to colors. So diffrent browns and verious other colors work out well.
My large plan at this point is to apply a dirty brown dry brush and a wash ..a dark wash in brown or black..thouth several washes are going to create the over all look we will end with
Here are some pic's to enjoy. This project will also involve making a few rock outcroppings and adding some light plantlife ....very light. I am excited to see this one used.
The last table has been a hit so far, described as a lazy game board...meaning all the terrain is their and you can just play. Not having to set up seems to be a hit. I am wondering how much play life the first board will get before it is no a table looked foward too by gamers..
Time will tell. I seem to have the green light to continue with the tables at the game shop. (Add a link to the guild)

Moving on today and this evening should get my titan project done as well as see my wolves add a few more to their lot!
Painting will begin after my models are assembled. I will have my wolves ready for gameing very soon.

More game board..and..

So here goes.. Warhound Titan is moving along slowly but I plan to be done by Saturday night.
The new board was textured a few days ago and will receive some spot checks this evening. Here
are the Pic's.

you can see it's coming together nicely.

Monday, 21 June 2010

And were at it again!

The new table being made for the Gamers Guild! is of yet an unknown kind. Meaning the land scape will appear before we now what the finished board will truly look like. It is important to remember that terrain is not ever truly only one way. It could be this or it could be that?!!
So jungle Snow or rocky waste land? No one knows just yet what were making..or do I?

Friday night fights!

So I got 2 games in last night! One at 1000 points and the second at 1500 points.
My list for game 1 was a master of runes in TDA ,a wolf priest, a lone wolf, a long fang pack, a blood claw pack and a grey hunter pack and 3 typhoon speeders each their own "pack" VS Imp Guard.
He had 3 squads of vets and a company command in Chimera as well as 2 Leman russ tanks.
He was very worried about my typhoons. We stole the first turn! and moved up the right side of the board as quick as the blood claws could go followed by the grey hunters. The plan was the rune master would lead the blood claws giving them the storm caller the grey hunters were shielded by the blood claws to get a cover save..(yes I love the good old ork tricks!) by turn 2 the blood claws were assaulting a Chimera that had become immobilized on some rocks! the foot push should never have worked due to the mobility of the guard. on the left I has the lone wolf run across the board and rend a battle tank to bits! It exploded! also their was a lot of shooting! and a lucky? plasma cannon drift missed its target (a Chimera) and struck another transport! crazy drift! no damage was done and the packs heavy bolters fire on the intended targets side armor ripping the tank apart it Explodes! The over all game went the way of the Wolves! and we won! My opponent has not played an a long while and was a little out of practice. In open terrain it would not have been a good day for the wolves.

We had a very exciting game. And are thinking about slugging it out over a trench board some time.

Game 2 was against one of the shops newer gamers. He has been playing of a few years and paints very well. This game was a lot more formal we rolled up Kill points played dawn of war!
My list added 3 more speeders changing into 3 squadrons of 2 all matched 2 of typhoons and 1 of tornados. and added 1 more grey hunter pack and an extra long fang pack. and a dreadnought.

I think my list was really off...it was late. not too sure at the moment.. However, the second long fangs did nothing except move on to the board and get flanked as soon as they arrived and lost to the gods of the north! howling savage war cries!
Which is still no excuse for a bad list. the first pack moved into a building and shot all of2 heavy bolters and over heated their plasma cannon one tome and moved to get a good position..for all of the game..and doing not much more than move in a building... so sure looks like I was over points more than a little but they at least did not and a gaining effect on the game for me.

So now the good stuff! my rune master smoked his defiler as it arrived with living lightning! Crack! KA boom! it exploded! I had not seen that done before and was not sure of the chances. My 200 point venerable dreadnought Slue a biker squad and a squad of Khorn bezerkers! and stuck in with a squad of chosen ! only losing his power fist! He work his armored ass off! Proving to be a true warrior of Russ! His demon prince sees that we are holding up in a building and comes to get my rune priest and the grey hunters he was leading.! But the murderous hurricane saves us and he must roll to charge in and he rolls 1,1 ! cant move..... The Damon is sent back to the warp full of bolter holes! ARRRRR! wounded 9 times and once with a plasma pistol! between the bolters and the hurricane he was hit just so many times and on his last 2 wounds.
The last few turns see me attempt a ram on a rhino with a very crippled Speeder...which was stupid..Both vehicles were wrecked giving up a kill point as well as earning one. The tornadoes prove that rending is still frighting! as the shred his land raider! it explodes! it was a bit of a gamble for sure but it massively paid off. the game was called at the end of turn 5 leaving an obliterater wounded his chosen stuck in with my venerable Dreadnought and about 10 or 12 chaos marines to face my remaining army.. This is where the Long fangs in the building would have made their money eating the survives of his army at long range which would have left his chosen to be dealt with by my remaining ground troops the 4 blood claws and wolf Priest the closest to that combat and my grey hunters who would have loved to over power the 2 chaos marines in front of them leaving the land speeders free to glide forward to suppress and kill the last chaos squad..10 strong? maybe and safely earning me the game....So That was how I saw turn 6 and maybe 7 but we will never know. To correct my list I will drop a long fang pack and slim down my speeders I want a fair game it keep the games fun.(For both players) I think I may have been more than 100 point over. The performance of the Just 1 typhoon has been mind blowing. They are just amazing.

I am so glad I got to play. I am very much looking forward to the next one!

What have I done..!

I don'tknow but it must have been good. I am building a new land scape and was commissioned to assemble a Chaos Warhound . So the work begins again and the pick and youtube ing will continue!

Project done?

Well game fans, I have hit my deadline and am feeling relieved and confused. I am happy that the project is both over and soon to ship. I am also wondering how well received it will be. Will he like it? or love it? As a whole it is a wonderful army full of well painted space wolves and they look good up to 1 and a half feet away.(18") or so. so they look very good at a glance from 3 feet! Thats the point isn't it? I keep truing to do my best work and I know that I have done enough and then some.
The question is what is painting worth. $3, $5, $10 ? So the wolves aren't $10 models but they are way above the others.I think this army will score very well at an RTT and ensure top points for the player, Though it's all subjective. their is still alot more I would love to do but its not my army and he's getting a sweet hart deal. I will miss this army and will remember it fondly with a few pic's and I can't wait to hear about how well it performs in game.

In the morning I will post the last pic's and ship this army back to its home!
More very soon

More work today on the wolves and the table!

Today I spent a few hours sorting my bitz and touching up the Wolves while waiting for glue to dry. I am quickly nearing the 95% done on the wolves! I am looking forward to being done by Monday. Another youtube update as well tonight.

Thursday, 10 June 2010

So Heres an up date on the "New" game board! I started some time before 1700 and decided to stop after 2200 this evening. This table will be done if all goes well by the weekend and if time permits I am looking forward to building another one as well. the biggest issue I see is the lack of defined area terrain/template terrain. I think that it will all come together once the plant life is added. I am very excited to play on this board.
So far I don't see any one side that has "I win" stamped all over it. So if its their I hope its hard to find. This table will be at the Gamers Guild for another few years.I hope that it as fun to use as it is to make.

Again more Space Wolves soon.

We Strike again!

So getting a little brake from my Space Wolves Project now. Got a lot of snow done yesterday! Not too much left to do I think.
Here is what I got into last night at the Guild!
I am still looking for old pic's of this board. I have added all the large raised areas, rocks and sand

This evening I will get back over their to work on it some more and with luck be done with it by the week end!

Enjoy.

Space wolves up date very soon.

Some Space Wolve Thoughts.

So I may have mentioned that I recently played the wolves in an RTT a few weeks ago and put up a good fight but sadly came in last! (this is twice now! AKK!) The first game was a nail biter till the end and the second one was a hard fought game as well but sadly by the third game any mojo I had left ran out and that was that.

Oh but were moving on now!
What about a very shooty army? My plan is to mash in 9 land speeders and 3 long fang packs on top of that I am thinking about 10 wolf guard and a land raider as well! I have been giving some thought to using the grate wolf and more wolf guard to help out my grey hunters. I cant help but want either 2 dreadnoughts or 22 packs of wolf scouts as well. I just want it all..... yep.

On the modeling end of things I have been thinking about the grey hunters being older than the wolf guard and that at one time they were wolf guard them selves so why not model and convert them to look the part.

What else is their to say?

Oh ya I posted this one on Cool Mini or not. Enjoy.

Sunday, 16 May 2010

Whats this?? 2 posts in 1 day !!

Front . Wolf Guard Terminators!
These guys are full of attitude! Looking at the wolf guard entry in the codex it is beginning to look like terminators are the most points effective way to field this unit. I know their will be some groaning about how they are armed but its not over till its over. Which in turn means that I am thinking about adding another box of these guys to my collection. More models means more options.

sure Wolf Claws and Storm Shields Why not? I wish that their was an off hand Shield That would open up a hand full of new modeling possibilities. I need 5 in the pack to get the heavy flamer so I have more work to do to bring it all together. These guys wont be painted for a while I need to base them before I prime them and I would like to work on the whole pack at one time.
But I am excited.

Sunday morning upload

Rawr! I'm a wolf lord!

So its the day after, and though I myself did not attend this years ard' boys round 1, my friend calls me late last night with the news that he has taken FIRST place at one in Jacksonville FL.
I am glad to hear the news. And as a reword for him I will post a had full of pic's for him here to day. The very good news is that you all can see them as well!

So this week brings me to all the flesh and hair being either done or very close to done! and I am moving on to some of the "power" weapons. My plans for today include making an other youtube shore and more painting. at some point I will be cough up enough to paint on my own models again.

Started on a droppod last night the interior is very full it has to be one of the more... challenging vehicles to paint. I have yet to paint one befor now...silly , as I have 9 of them primed. (My own.)

Ok on to the Pic' s!

Here are some Wolf Guard!
His guy looks like he is ready to join a rock band!
This one by the ink is one I realy like a lot.
The armour and his face have come out very well.
These two were randomly selected.

Sunday, 9 May 2010

Can you read me now? Good, Good.

So were going to hit this post so hard it shows up in 3D!

Or at least post some Pic's.

Onward to the Pic's!!!

These are some of the Wolf guard that are part of the army I am painting at the moment.

They are not done yet but I want to show them off. this project is taking longer than I would have wanted but the more I work on them the more details I see and I am also working full time or more than full time as well.

So their well on their way and the extreme close up works only too well to show what they truly look like. and at one to two feet they look a lot better Silly I know.

And to further display my painting My new wolf lord in progress.
This evenings progress.

You can also see more from me on youtube!

Enjoy.

Ps: I know the videos are not very good but I can only improve from here!
